As jazz has been one of our nation’s cultural bridge-builders around the world, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History are humbled and honored to tell this powerful, diverse, and culturally rich story through our collections, scholarship, and in-residence jazz orchestra. During this two-year journey, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra embarked on “Jazz Beyond Borders,” performing, teaching, and building relationships with communities in places such as San Francisco, Houston, and as far away as Hong Kong and Beijing.

MATCH&
FUSE

TOULOUSE | Dublin | Zurich

Match&Fuse runs festivals and tours with the most compelling bands emerging across Europe. Invited collaborations give new angles on instrumental and vocal music. As a roaming festival since 2012 it has brought innovative and cutting-edge music from across Europe and beyond for three-day bouts in London, Oslo, Rome, Warsaw, Toulouse, Dublin, and Zürich.

On this project, I helped produce hard-hitting programs of artists from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, Italy, Ireland, the UK. Each event was multi-day and multi-venue, with logistics including: maintaining vendor relationships, tracking invoices and deadlines, coordinating teams, and communicating expectations for advertising, design, rentals, and press. Pre- and post-event press was secured in digital, print, and radio in the The Guardian (UK), Irish Times (IE), BBC Radio 2 (UK) and SwissMusic (CH).
